The St. Mark's Choir
Music is an integral part of our parish life. We are fortunate to have talented musicians, both professional and volunteer, within our parish, and this allows our music program to follow traditional Anglican practices.
For High Mass, as well as special holy day celebrations, the choir sings a variety of chants, anthems, motets, and portions of the mass. Composers sung include Palestrina, Byrd, Rorem, Farrant, Durufle, Poulenc, and others. The choir also sings the minor propers for all high masses at St. Mark's.
The Rev'd Daniel Werning is our organist and choirmaster.
Membership in the choir is by audition; auditions may be scheduled at any point during the year. Interested singers are heartily encouraged to audition, and it is not necessary to be an Episcopalian to sing in the choir.
