Sunday Morning Forums
Sundays at 8:45 am in the Parish Hall
On appointed Sundays the adults gather in the Parish Hall for a variety of formation events. Come enjoy a cup of coffee and enter into the discussion. Our Godly Play Program for children is at 9:00 am, so parents are most welcome to join us while their children attend Sunday School.
Parish Lenten Study: Embracing the Prophets & Confronting Today's "Pharoahs"
February 26, March 4, 11, 18, 25
For the five Sundays of Lent we will study the prophets and their relevance for us today using a DVD series featuring Old Testament scholar, Walter Brueggemann.
Old Testament Scholar Walter Brueggemann presents this compelling faith exploration and develops contemporary significance and relevance of the Old Testament prophets as uncredentialed purveyors of covenant and moral coherence in a world of power, money and violence. (From the DVD series)
Each session will begin with a fifteen minute introduction by Dr. Brueggemann, followed by additional DVD material in which he interacts with a small and diverse group of adults. Our parish reflection on the themes presented follows. This study meets at 8:45 am in the Parish Hall for the five Sundays of Lent.
Sunday of the Passion: Palm Sunday
April 1
On this Sunday we commemorate our Lord's entry into Jerusalem before his crucifixion on Good Friday. Palms will be blessed at both masses. We have no formal Sunday Morning Forum planned between the masses on this day, but as always, refreshments will be served after low mass and high mass. Godly Play will still gather at 9:00 am in the Godly Play Room - the room with the red doors off of the playground. All are welcome.
