Youth Serving Christ

Easter Acolytes

Youth are invited to serve as acolytes and ushers at the Sunday Solemn Mass.

Acolytes begin by serving as torch bearers and crucifers, and those who show greater dedication and interest, may undergo instruction to become thurifers. Youth who show exceptional dedication may undertake instruction to become subdeacons during their senior year of high school. Youth may also choose to be lectors (readers). All positions of service require extensive training with the clergy and Acolyte Master prior to serving.

Some youth may prefer to work behind the scenes, helping the Altar Guild, Flower Guild, and Candle Guild. Youth are also welcome to serve as ushers and greeters, welcoming parishioners and visitors to our masses. For those youth who enjoy social media and technology, running the livestream is always an option.
