Rogation Walk & Garden Mass
The Sixth Sunday after Easter is Rogation Sunday, and on this Sunday we give thanks for the creation and all of its beautiful diversity. At 5:00 pm we gather at the church for a Rogation Walk throughout our neighborhood of Kapahulu and Waikiki. The walk will begin promptly at 5:00 pm, and participants should be able to walk three miles comfortably. Please wear walking shoes, bring a water bottle, and observe the necessary precautions for being in the sun. If it is a rainy day, please bring an umbrella.
Our walk will take us to the Kapahulu Bike Path, the Ala Wai Canal, the Honolulu Zoo, Queens Beach, Kapi'olani Park, and the Kapahulu Business District. We will end our Rogation Walk in the parish garden of St. Mark's, where we will have a short mass beginning at the offertory, as our walk will have been the Liturgy of the Word. Our walk and mass will end before 7:00 pm with the singing of the Regina caeli before the Mary statue in the garden.
The Rogation Walk and Garden Mass are in lieu of our weekly Sunday evening 6:00 pm mass.
